School leaders and representatives of organisations working with children and young people are invited to the Â鶹´«Ã½ for a Safer Internet Day workshop.

The free all-day event, to be held at The Hold in Ipswich on 6 February, brings together leading national experts to provide the latest insights and share what works in helping to keep young people safe.

The Â鶹´«Ã½ is a leader in research and sharing best practice in online safeguarding and Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Emma Bond will be among the speakers.

Professor Bond said: “Keeping on top of internet safety remains a significant challenge for school leaders and others working with children and young people. Our programme brings together those at the forefront of latest developments to help equip them with the tools and knowledge to address this issue.”

Speakers include representatives from the Revenge Porn Helpline, Internet Watch Foundation, Survivors in Transition, Ofcom and Meta.

The authors of Digital Resilience Toolkit, Andy Phippen from Bournemouth University and Louisa Street from Keele University, will be joined by sexting expert Dr Emily Setty, from the University of Surrey, and the author of Sex Ed for Grown ups, Jonny Hunt from the University of Bedfordshire. Other speakers include a senior police officer and representatives from the Marie Collins Foundation.
