Arts Building
The Arts Building is the base for the Â鶹´«Ã½ Art and Design courses. It houses state-of-the-art facilities for courses including: Fine Art, Graphic Design and Graphic Illustration, Film, Architecture, Computer Games Design and Photography.
The facilities include a range of studios for Painting and Sculpture with adjacent spaces for Installation and Video. A Drawing Studio, workshops and an exceptionally well-equipped Print Studio enhance the student experience. IT facilities include iMac and Mac Pro Suites as well as specialist IT facilities for Computer Games Design. In addition there is a Film Studio and associated editing suites, one equipped with a full lighting rig and sound system, and industry standard studios, dark rooms and digital suites specific to photography.
The print room houses two printing presses. One is an over 100-year-old Columbian press that is one of 415 surviving presses (recorded in a census between 2013–2017) of this type. The other is a smaller relief press called an Albion press made in 1840. Making these the oldest pieces of working equipment in the University.
