Rachel is one of the Associate Professors in the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Public Health.  Rachel completed her registered nurse training at the West Suffolk Hospital (WSH) in 1987 and worked predominantly in Acute medicine and rehabilitation as a Staff Nurse and Ward Manager.  Following a role supporting learning in practice, Rachel joined the University as Senior Lecturer: Practice Learning and Development in 2010.

Rachel has a keen interest in developing learning in practice from student and placement provider perspectives and has undertaken the role of Academic Lead for Practice Education up to August 2022. She is a member of the Adult nursing course team and also contributes to the delivery of the Masters programmes with teaching expertise focusing on leadership, change and self-development.

Rachel’s doctoral study focused on role modelling as a leadership behaviour in nursing.
