Overview
Our MSc in International Business Management here at the Â鶹´«Ã½ prepares you for a huge variety of business roles in a global context. Whether you’re interested in Entrepreneurship, Managing People Effectively and Strategic International Marketing to name a few areas this course covers then this is the course for you. Our staff and students will be drawn from all over the world with widely varied expertise, making this MSc a truly international programme.
If you have not previously studied business or management subjects, this course is designed to enable you to build the foundations needed for a business and management career. Through a focus on the practical process of doing business and have opportunity to interact with businesses through our ever-expanding networks.
Finally, we also offer a further chance to enhance your career and promotion prospects through our dual accreditation with the ILM Level 7 Certificate in Leadership and Management.
Through our dual accreditation scheme, and upon successful completion of modules on the MSc International Business and Management programme, students will also achieve the ILM Level 7 Certificate in Leadership and Management. This module is designed for international postgraduate (PG) business students to provide key elements on their journey to completing their PG studies. The purpose of the module is to gain and apply important study skills with the essential things required for students to complete the level 7 study. The two-week module will allow students to orientate themselves to the academic environment and requirements and appreciate an awareness of academic issues and research, whilst also beginning to develop their own research and study skills.
This module aims to provide students with a broad introduction to managing people effectively across different national contexts through the introduction of key concepts, theories and contemporary practices. It considers the global challenges of developing and implementing effective international people management strategy in multinational organisations. This
module will explore the crucial role of cross-cultural differences and interactions influencing people management practices in international organisations by analysing its impact on people management functions such as resourcing, talent management and development, performance and reward management as well as employment relationship matters from an
organisational leadership and management perspective.
This module will provide students with a practical understanding of how organisations create and sustain desire for brands and then how to design and implement international marketing strategies. To ensure students gain an appreciation of international marketing in action this module will provide students with an understanding of how brands create value for
customers using contemporary international marketing practice and how contemporary marketing practices in different organisations and sectors achieve marketing objectives. Students will explore both the theoretical background of international marketing concepts as well as their application in today's fast-changing and rapidly growing digital marketing
landscape.

From the acquisition of valuable skills and knowledge to the exploration of diverse cultures and markets, the study of international business equips individuals with the tools they need to thrive in a rapidly evolving global economy. In this module, we will explore the significance of studying change management and decision-making in international business for graduates aspiring to excel in global careers. From fostering adaptability and innovation to enhancing strategic agility and risk management capabilities, proficiency in change management and decision-making equips individuals with
the skills and insights necessary to thrive in a volatile and competitive global marketplace. Whether navigating cross-border mergers and acquisitions, expanding into new markets, or leading multinational teams, the ability to drive change and make effective decisions is essential for achieving sustainable success in international business endeavours
The purpose of this module is twofold: to examine the use of systematic research approaches to help build understanding of specific business contexts; and to prepare students for the extended project or dissertation as part of their level 7 studies. In this module, students will develop their investigative and analytical skills. They will learn about a range of methods and methodologies for collecting and analysing data and develop their own approach to a research project connected with an area of business or management.
The dissertation demands a high level of individual application and commitment to research.
It provides students with an opportunity to identify, reflect on and explore a topic in significant
detail. That topic should fall under one or more of the following broader themes: organization,
management, work, business. Your research may constitute either a traditional academic
project or an applied management report

Facilities and Resources
We have invested across the University to create environments that showcase the latest teaching facilities and support our students to achieve great things. The Waterfront Building and the Atrium Building which houses the Innovation Labs (ILabs), will generally be the base during your postgraduate course.
Learning is the central part of the University Online Learning Environment (OLE). It brings together a range of tools used by course teams in their teaching and learning. We also provide you with an informal online learning space (BrightSpace).
The Libraries at the Â鶹´«Ã½ and across the Learning Network provide you with access to IT facilities, study spaces, and the resources you need for your reading and research.
